What is the cloud?
"The cloud" refers to servers that are accessed over the Internet, and the software and databases that run on those servers. Cloud servers are located in data centers all over the world. By using cloud computing, users and companies do not have to manage physical servers themselves or run software applications on their own machines.
Cloud service models
- IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service): Provides virtualized computing resources over the Internet
- PaaS (Platform as a Service): Provides a platform for developing, running, and managing applications
- SaaS (Software as a Service): Delivers software applications over the Internet on a subscription basis
Benefits of cloud computing
Cloud computing offers scalability, cost efficiency, global accessibility, automatic updates, disaster recovery, and the ability to innovate faster without infrastructure constraints.
